Rooms are smallish but very well appointed and comfortable. We had a balcony with a view of the botanical garden. Also, the hotel cafe is really excellent.

We had the room on the 6th floor which was spacious with good views to the old town over the roof tops and it was accessible by lift.

From the balcony one can easily spot Prado Museum across the street and everything can be found in walking distance. I arrived on Sunday at noon, so took the opportunity of a nice walk in the sun to El Retiro nearby as well as in the small streets with shops and restaurants around. Make sure you book a table in advance in one of the restaurants nearby, if you're looking for a late lunch. Everyone is out and enjoying time with their friends and family. I was on a business trip this time, but I would definitely return for holiday!
