My recent stay at the Lorian was absolutely incredible! We planned this trip just a month ago and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. Mr. Jeyakumar, Mr. Munees and Arun took care of every detail, from airport transfers to safari arrangements, ensuring that we had a stress-free vacation. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the hospitality at the camp was exceptional. Arun made us feel right at home with his warm and genuine welcome. The organization of the camp was flawless, providing us with delicious meals, a safe environment, and a top-notch safari vehicle for our daily adventures. Speaking of meals, the culinary offerings at the resort were outstanding. They catered to our specific dietary needs and every dish was a delightful fusion of local and international flavors. If you're Indian, you'll definitely love the Masala Dosa, Phulka, and Butter Chicken - they were absolutely delicious! But the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the safari experience. As an amateur wildlife photographer, I was thrilled with the expertise of our guides, Benson and Simat. They not only ensured our safety but also provided us with valuable insights and thrilling encounters with the wildlife. They understood the needs of a photographer and positioned the safari vehicle perfectly to capture those breathtaking moments. They even went the extra mile by providing a bed in the vehicle for my comfort, as I was experiencing back pain from all the photography. Overall, our stay at the Lorian was truly unforgettable. The attention to detail, the warm hospitality, and the incredible safari experience made it a trip of a lifetime. We can't wait to visit again!

Spent 9 nights here. The location is great as you're sleeping in the park. Obadiah, the manager, was great. He helped me with everything from game drives to getting a covid test needed to depart. Dennis, my driver/guide, works for Julia's and was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable & kept in contact with the other guides so we didn't miss a river crossing (or anything else). We saw leopard, plenty of lion, cheetah, hyena, elephants, two river crossings (5000 animals each crossing), cheetah kill, hippos, buffalo, wild dogs, crocs, etc. Truly exceptional and once in a lifetime experience. The meals were great. I had pancakes, fresh fruit, & whip cream for breakfast. Eggs, etc are available. Value for money 10/10.

O Fig Tree Camp - Maasai Mara está localizado no meio do Parque Nacional Maasai Mara, às margens do rio Talek. Jambo, Hands down the trip of a life time! At the heart of the trip is the amazing Fig Tree Camp. The camp is surrounded by wildlife. Hippos and baboons can be seen from the safety of your riverside tent. Make sure to bring a set of ear plugs as the hippos are extremely loud during twilight hours. Hyena can also be heard at night time with their signature ‘whoo up’ sounds. The camp is situated on the Talek River which makes it situated in the heart of the habitat of local wildlife. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, food is amazing and the pool is handy in between game drives. The bar area is a fantastic place to talk to other visitors about your experiences while enjoying coffee or a bottle of Tusker or Two, be sure to try a cocktail made by the Maasai Maras number one mixologist Gideon and his assistants. Where to start with the game drives. This has to be hands down the most enjoyable experience I have ever had. A four day game drive gave me the opportunity to see the ‘Big Five’ and everything else the Maasai Mara had to offer. The highlight of the trip has to be watching a large male Lion steal a kill from a clan of Hyena at sunrise. I was also fortunate enough to see three week old Lion cubs and four separate Leopards. A lioness was also chased into the bush by a herd of elephants and unbeknown, a Black Rhino came hurtling out of the bush. My guide and guardian Johnathan was on point everyday and knew where to find the local wildlife. I also had the opportunity to visit a Maasai Village and experience the culture of the legendary Maasai Warriors. Love this camp. Right in the heart of Mara reserve. View of river is lovely. Not all rooms have view but lodge view is top. Hippos and crocodiles in river. Great sounds at night. Lovely location for exploring Mara. Staff was amazing. Great food and so nice. Hope I return one day

Magdy, the owner of the camp, is super helpful and will make sure that you get the most out of your stay, including organizing safari drives and transport back and forth to Nairobi if necessary. As an added bonus, the camp is frequently visited by monkeys, antelopes and warthogs, so you almost don't have to go to the Masai Mara to feel that you are on a safari!
