Great location for walks but it’s SO quiet in the evenings! Not much option for good food except greasy ‘and chips’ places.
Next time would stay somewhere within driving distance of the Brecon National Park. Expected Brecon to be at the hub of things but wasn’t. Saying that it’s a pretty centre.

Lovely picturesque town, plenty of shops etc
Down side absolutely shockingly no transport!!!
You have to get a cab and that was almost impossible, they really need to improve transport links, I had to book a cab from abergavenny which cost a small fortune just to be able to catch train home.
It's better if you drive

From the town with independent shops to the breathtaking walks this is a lovely place to spend some time to take in the Welsh scenery. There is plenty of parking and places to stay and prices are reasonable. The museums and community centres are not to be missed.

Our visit to Brecon was to meet friends and celebrate a milestone birthday. We had a fantastic bit short trip and regretted not having more time to explore the town more as well as the local countryside.
- Very spacious accommodation, with a large lounge / dining area, two good sized bedrooms, a well equipped kitchen and two bathrooms
- Host was helpful and friendly, and set us up well for the start of the weekend with breakfast food and snacks
- Located right by the river, easy walk to explore Brecon and easy drive or bus or explore the Brecon Beacons
- Pet friendly
The house was light, spacious and very peaceful. The whole family slept well and especially enjoyed the underfloor heating :). The lounge area was extremely spacious but we think would benefit from a rug to give it that extra cosy feel in the evenings (in no way a criticism just personal preference) We cannot wait to return and explore more of the Brecon Beacons.
Really lovely and helpful couple. The breakfast was excellent and my boys loved the selection of cereals. Fab location, right on the edge of town, just a 10 min walk in. Close to lots of amenities and attractions in the Brecon Beacons Park. The garden was also lovely and nice to be able to sit outside and relax on a sunny afternoon after a busy day.
Everything, Rachel and Sid are most welcoming. The facilities are second to none (some hotels don’t offer that kind nod level) rooms are spacious and super comfortable. Breakfast is to order and very tasty. Location is perfect for Brecon beacon national park and surrounding area! Can not recommend highly enough. Definitely great value for money.
David and Kathleen were so friendly, knowledgeable, nothing was too much trouble. Everything you could possibly need for your stay. Lovely garden, private parking and close to the town. David chatting and his humour at breakfast, which was delicious and plentiful, was great. A lovely warm welcome by Kathleen when I arrived.
A beautiful, spacious, spotless clean room in a fabulous and modern decor property. The view from the room is stunning. Elaine and Lyn both were superb hosts, very welcoming and hospitable. The breakfast was excellent and delicious which was perfect to start the day. Would highly recommend when visiting Brecon Beacons.
Location was great. Close to Brecon and easy to travel around the Brecon Beacons. The house had everything you'd need for a stay away. Kitchen facilities were great and lots of space to chill out; inside the house & outside in the garden. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.
Excellent location with beautiful views. A short walk downhill to town. Accommodation was extremely well furnished and clean. We had the best bedroom we'd ever had on a weekend break. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly and the breakfast was excellent and plenty of choice.
A nice room though outside the actual hotel building.
Good evening meal.
Good breakfast.
Situated beside Brecon Castle high above the town, but in easy walking distance.

Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. Our host Jen was very welcoming and accommodating and the breakfast was outstanding. The property is lovely with lovely views from the breakfast room.

it’s a comfortable home from home type of Hotel with very friendly Staff. Jacob was particularly helpful and recommended the Kebabs for our dinner, they were delicious.
It’s a beautiful place to stay, the room very comfortable, there’s a great common area to have a drink and catch up with other guests, and the breakfast outstanding.
Large and spacious rooms to spread out luggage and relax. Center of village location. Ice cream store and small grocery just down the steps and around the corner.
Welcoming staff, comfortable spacious room, historic building, excellent breakfast available, very good location for exploring the Welsh/English border country.
Beautiful location in the Brecon Beacons, close to the town centre and integrated into the medieval castle. Excellent breakfast and great venue for a party!
