The beautiful property, the location so relatively close to Liverpool airport, and the delicious breakfast was all well and good, but what made the stay at this venue so great was the most excellent host - Ian. As soon as we got there he was the usual host, showing us to the room and the facilities - but it was the engagement with us as guest that stood out. We were discussing we were just on an overnight at their B&B before flying the next day, but Ian gave us lots of good insights into how we can best optimise our time there so we could enjoy a lovely circular hike in the area going along the river and into the picturesque village of Hale [lots of thatched cottages]. Even though we had technically checked out the following morning to then go and do the hike, we were allowed to leave our bags there whilst we went for the walk, and when we got back we were invited to stay for a final cuppa before departing. Whilst on Holiday we were also contact by Ian as my wife had left some earrings in the room by mistake - excellent customer service and care.
