We stayed in the Neuadd Arms for the Man Versus Horse Marathon and it was exactly what we were looking for. A no fuss hotel with excellent food and a great bar. None of your fancy 5 star stuff here. It is full of character and charm. The breakfeast was top class. Started with a bowl of fresh fruit, tea or coffee, a good old fashioned bowl of poridge with honey followed by a decent fry up. There was a great choice on offer. Served promptly with a smile. A great start to the day or cure the following morning!

Things I enjoyed about the property include:
• My room had lovely, fresh decoration with a cosy / snug vibe.
• A robe.
• Toiletries including muscle soak in the bathroom (I had forgotten my toothbrush but there was one available which was fab)
• A vast array of drink options available on a self-service trolley for all visitors outside the rooms.
• A HUGE AMAZING fresh fruit salad option at breakfast
• The calming sounds of the water feature in the garden which I could hear from my room.
• The hosts were so friendly and accommodating

The layout of the property. The ‘conservatory’, the kitchen, living/dining, the mezzanine and bedroom were all very well suited to purpose.
The garden was a delight and the view from the front was stunning.

A lovely little town with the river running through it.
A lovely little town with the river running through it. It is very quiet, but seems to have a nice community. We were welcomed at the heritage centre where there was lots of information about the area. Everything is within walking distance, including the station. The convenience store has a good range of food and other articles such as maps.
There are several restaurants, tea shops and pubs. For a bit of luxury book a meal at the Drovers Arms, with an Egon Ronay chef, a lovely eveningl. A few miles up the road is The Trout at Beulah which provided great food and drink at a good price, so we went there most nights!
We had some lovely walks in the surrounding countryside, there are some fantastic views.

Brilliant place for walkers.
Brilliant place for walkers. Stunning scenery and loads of information available on different length walks (online or in local establishments). It's a small town but it has a few places to eat and is a great base for anyone active. Caffi Sosban and the Drovers Rest provided us with lovely meals

Neuadd Arms well worth a visit for an evening meal.
Neuadd Arms well worth a visit for an evening meal. The restaurant decor is old fashioned but the lasagne and tagine are highly recommended.
Town itself although steeped in history seems to have been forgotten by Powys council and the Welsh Government. A lot of the old buildings need a facelift. But some lovely local walks.

We had a perfect six night stay in Kilsby Cottage. It is set in a private and peaceful location with stunning views over a valley. The cottage was very clean and equipped with everything we needed. The owners Matthew and Caroline live onsite and are very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. The cottage is only a mile away from the town of Llanwrtyd Wells where you will find a very well-stocked shop next to the petrol station and several places to eat.
I love the hotel and the staff. A real home from home to me. A place I look forward to returning to every time. Not the sterile, impersonal sort of place like the chain hotels. Everything conducted in a friendly and personal manner. The hotel also brews its own excellent range of beers and is a great area for short or long walks. I would definitely recommend the Neuadd.
A lovely little hotel with quiet, comfy rooms to relax in. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. Pub food was great, would recommend. A brilliant atmosphere on New Year's Eve when sleepy little Llanwrtyd Wells comes to life - a great place to enjoy the 'traditional' New Year's shenanigans!
As in previous visits Bernie and John made us very welcome. Cerdyn Villa is in a perfect location for exploring Mid and South Wales and the villa is only five minutes walk to the village with pubs, cafe and shop. The breakfast is lovely with plenty of choice. We love staying here and enjoy their company.
The care and attention to the guests here from the host ranks alongside only one other (hotel) of the many places I have stayed over the years - including a couple of 5-star hotels (that were VERY expensive).
The breakfast was straightforward, but first class: Full English breakfast at its best.
Steve was a awesome host. The property was exceptionally clean and well made with gorgeous views. Quiet enough to get good rest but only 5 minute walk to nearby local pubs with some proper friendly locals. Breakfast was gorgeous and there was plenty of tea and coffee..
a very unique and pristine house, that is only a short walk to the local pubs and river walks. We loved the ‘town’ . Roger and Kate are such lovely welcoming people and we had a really delicious breakfast. A perfect stay.
Lovely comfortable room

Dog friendly with lots of walks
Great breakfast
Great location
Village has the friendliest people you will ever meet
Great pubs and coffee shops
Lovely hotel in a great location, staff were fantastic, home cooked food was lovely, breakfast was good and all very reasonably valued, and the hotel has some interesting history.
Kilsby House was a little slice of heaven, we really loved everything about it. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, who did so much to make our stay enjoyable.
