Firstly, the people are wonderful. I would love to live here. I have been here for 4 months and have discovered many local restaurants and markets. The people are great. However, I definitely do not recommend the hostel Svanland. Cafe Laila: This popular cafe offers traditional Svan dishes and Georgian cuisine. It's a great place to try khachapuri, kubdari, and other local delicacies. Sunseti Restaurant: This restaurant offers both traditional Georgian dishes and international cuisine. It's known for its beautiful views and warm atmosphere. Cafe Panorama: This restaurant provides a dining experience with stunning views of Mestia, offering a variety of Georgian dishes. Khinkali and various meat dishes are popular here. The Old House Cafe: This cafe, housed in a traditional Svan house, offers homemade meals and a cozy atmosphere. We were in Mestia at the end of the winter season (end of March). If you want to ski relaxed and without queues in the middle of the great scenery of the Caucasus: Tetnuldi (30 to 40 minutes by car from the hotel) is an absolute insider tip!!! A smaller ski area is only 5 minutes away. Modern chairlifts, slopes well prepared......breathtaking views. A real alternative for skiing to the crowded skiresorts in the Alps!

It's easy to get around Mestia. The places i liked the most were: Koruldi Lakes, Tetnuldi ski resort, Ushguli and local museums in Mestia. The food was great in the local restaurants, everything highly recommended!Mariam

The room was very clean and spacious, the bathroom facilities were great. We had a heater that warmed up the room very fast. Amazing view on the mountains, too. The host was a very friendly and welcoming lady, she prepared delicious breakfast for us for two days and was very responsive by WhatsApp. Additionally, the guest house is very close to the center of Mestia while at the same time being off the main road which makes the place very peaceful.MarenBelgium

Isolda welcomed me with really delicious home made bread, I always had great porridge for breakfast and just felt really welcomed :-) I was the only guest staying there when I came which made my stay even more unique! I loved the self-made marmelade, tea out of fresh leaves and everything else :) by far my best guesthouse experience in Georgia!

It is simple, but nice and clean. You can communicate with the host in English through Booking, but since he is not there, when you arrive you can only speak in Georgian or Russian. In spite of this, we had no problem communicating with the local lady Tamara, using body language. She was amazing, always smiley and helping with everything. She makes wonderful sponge cakes! It is located at 20min by walk from the center of Mestia, and the walk totally worth it. We took a dinner at the place, cooked by Luka’s mother and it was DELICIOUS and very generous, one of our best meal in Georgia ! I totally recommend to go there.

Very clean and comfortable rooms. Ana speaks English very well and the other hosts are really friendly too. They helped me with laundry and also looked after my belongings when I left for Ushguli. Highly recommend it!
