I liked the live music in the bars, the choice of restaurants and the interesting shops. I got some lovely birthday presents while l was rambling round the town. Westport House and grounds are lovely, although the House is closed for renovations temporarily. Westport is a good base also for other interesting places in Mayo. Fabulous town centre, very picturesque with plenty of shops and a large variety of restaurants, pubs and cafes. Easy walk to westport house and grounds and situated in an excellent position on the coast close to beaches, mountains, the greenway path and the wild atlantic way. In easy reach of Kylemore Abbey and Achill Island.

Westport is a small town but has everything traveller could wish for. Loads of great bars and restaurants. Independent shops abound. There s s lovely atmosphere at this time of year. The locals are very friendly and it is a pleasure to visit. Close to the town are wonderful beaches and the village of Louisburgh nearby is also well worth a stop. Westport is a charming picturesque bustling Irish town situated in the West of Ireland and central to Connemara and Atlantic Way. High quality pups and eateries with traditional Irish flair, great for foodies and coffee shop lovers alike. Traditional Irish pubs with Irish music overlook the town square and the old bridge which crosses the river where fly fishermen cast their rods. We had a wonderful three night break . And will choose here next time we stay in Westport.
