My son and I visited Palazzo Tronconi to experience the area where my grandparents lived. Our host Mariarosa went the extra mile to help us with transportation and set us up with a local historian and guide who helped us connect with our family history.

Emanuele and Alba were magnificent hosts. Through google translate, we were able to communicate and share some laughs. The apartment is in a house that Emanuele’s grandparents owned so there’s a lot of history here! There’s plenty of old Italian charm but the kitchen/bathroom fixtures are modern. There is a huge patio off the kitchen that overlooks the valley. The location is in the middle of a really charming old village, and fun to walk around in for those who have good mobility. The neighbors are friendly. In 3 trips to Italy, this is the most truly old-world Italian stay we’ve had.

There are two balconies, one with a mountain view and one with a garden view. The garden was absolutely precious with beautiful fruit trees, succulents, snails and a pizza oven. The garden has terraced sitting areas. Picturesque sunset at the top of the road. Adorable historical town and good bar (Caffe Bistrot) about 2 minute walk away with good espresso. In front of the church is a beautiful viewing area with nice mountain views. Beautiful Castle ruins at the top of town (steep drive). The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed eating in the garden. Laundry on site. This townhome was better than expected. The gentleman who rented was very kind and accommodating.

The hosts were so sweet and friendly. Everyone in the town is kind and welcoming. Arpino is a lovely town, not overrun with tourists. We had an authentic experience, with the sounds of a rooster crowing and a cat meowing in the morning. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful, suitable for formal gatherings and celebrations. There is convenient parking inside the gates of the hotel.
Hotel Villa Ida is in the small town of Ceprano, just off the A1 motorway and a 20-minute drive from Frosinone. It offers free parking, a restaurant and air-conditioned rooms with LCD TV.
With its hilltop setting, Villa Del Colle has beautiful views of the Lazio countryside. It offers an outdoor swimming pool and children's playground, plus an elegant restaurant and bar.

Historic Arce is a very small village on a steep hill.
Historic Arce is a very small village on a steep hill. You need a vehicle to get there, and a good pair of legs when you are there. I went there specifically for a festival, which made the village come alive. In normal times it is not really a destination, but is in a good location for visiting the surrounding areas, and there are good views of the countryside.
