Wasn't crazy about location. Some areas were lovely but some were run down.
All the roads seemed to be choppy, and lots of work being done on the roads. Strange, but traffic lights had a very long wait.

The Amherst campus was pristine and memorable in its additions since l attended decades ago.
Bucolic location has been upgraded with additional science, athletic and dorm buildings while maintaining the original beauty of its location in rolling hills of New England. The history alone is worth the visit.

A smallish college town with lots of personality and many international restaurants. Amherst College campus is a lovely walk in addition to the downtown shopping options. Lots more to see and do in the greater area.

A pretty town … especially the residential sections.
A pretty town … especially the residential sections. We enjoyed downtown, as well. Had a good dinner at Johnny's Tavern. And I loved clothes shopping at Zanna, where I bought I beautiful cape. Excellent sales staff there, too.
The Amherst Inn is very attractive both inside and outside. The building itself is handsome and welcoming in its turn-of-the-century dignity.
The Inn is filled with great antique furniture, which includes numerous Tiffany lamps and even an organ. Aside from the wonderful lounge area, there is an attractive garden with places to sit. There is sufficient parking. A traditional, full breakfast is cooked to order.
It's an easy walk to the center of Amherst town and Amherst College.
When I arrived at Allen House, the owner asked if I’d stay at her other nearby property, the Amherst Inn. I was eager to do so, as that inn is right across the street from Emily Dickinson’s birthplace, The Homestead. But the biggest joy was yet to come when my husband I entered our gorgeous room, which had a comfortable bed and was beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delicious and the owners a lovely, interesting couple. Heartily recommend!
Lovely inn within walking distance of the center of Amherst and Amherst College; across from historic Emily Dickinson house; beautifully restored and decorated; very nice breakfast; quiet and relaxing; parking available.
Jasmin was the best ever. She went out of her way multiple times to ensure our comfort in the hotel and was truly very polite and thoughtful and made our stay considerably better. She deserves a raise.
Very beautiful hotel, including the outside surroundings and the internal decorations. Nice to have done some adjustments on the old building, e.g. additional sockets. Close to the downtown.
The room we stayed in was adorably themed, well appointed and comfortable. We were looking for something a bit more exotic than your typical/generic hotel experience, and this fit the bill.
The location was very good especially if going to Univ of Massachusetts. The hotel was good but understaffed and hence room cleaning was not done every day but only after checkout.
Only dilemma was they did not have my reservation from booking.com thank god they had extra rooms. Know how to get my money back from booking.com or hotel umass
