It's a really great and unique place to stay. The decoration of the rooms is just great and there's a really nice veranda. We've stayed there 10 years ago and absolutely loved it both times.

The host was friendly and gave good information and tips. There was fresh coffee/cake at the office in the morning. The rooms were of a decent size with souther/mexican decor. The shower and bathroom were good.
Facility was tiny - no room for two roller bags.. Bad, hard bed. Bathroom 25 yds away.
Most of all, the owner was obnoxious and threatening. Staying at this facility was the low point in vacation and/or business travel in my lifetime.
I advise travelers to avail themselves of other facilities in the area - save yourself from a genuinely unpleasant stay

I don't have anything negative to say.
I don't have anything negative to say. It was serene and a very well conceived place. A place you would like to sit and experience the openness. The restaurant adjacent to the B&B was also excellent. The best food I've ever eaten.

I stayed here on my way from California to Denver. I chose Escalante because of its chill vibe and proximity to hiking and hwy 12. It was a nice break from some of the more conservative towns I've stayed in-- plenty of places to get a beer or a drink.

Escalante is an excellent starting point for the Hole-in-the-Rock Road and other back country roads in the area which access incredible scenery and hiking. Even staying on the pavement of U12 gives you access to the Hogback, the Escalante and Calf Creek canyons, Petrified Forest State Park and Longwood Canyon. Although limited in number, the eateries were varied and all delicious (the Subway is always a staple for our trips). (There was a great chocolate peanut butter shake at the drive-in!)

Just an amazing National Monument.
Just an amazing National Monument. So much to see, from scenic drives between Escalante to Boulder and onto Capitol Reef National Park as well as hikes in slot canyons and river/wash hikes.
Would definitely make a reservation to eat at Hells Backbone Grill if you plan to stay or drive through to Torrey. Also, would recommend taking a drive along the Burr Trail Road.

Lovely little town on scenic highway 12, east of Bryce Canyon National Park. Close to very picturesque Burr Trail road (no need for 4x4!), Devil's Backbone bridge over the gorge, and other attractions. Decent food choices (although the corner bar in nearby Boulder - 30 minute drive? towards Burr Trail - is better.
We both liked this cozy motel
It was clean and our stay was pleasant
What I did not like was, that nobody was there when we got there
It was perfectly organized and we found our key without any problem.
It is just nice to have somebody at the reception, especially because we got there in the very early evening.
We have experienced this a couple time during our vacation and we are well aware that this is because it is hard to find staff....not only in Escalante
Anyway, we would choose this motel again
Recommended :-)
Canyons bed-and-breakfast is a peaceful oasis in the middle of nowhere. Perfectly situated between two national parks, the location was great for us. The room was spotless, and the grounds were lovely to relax after a full day of hiking. The hosts were super helpful offering suggestions on where to go and how to do things. Every morning the breakfasts were a delicious treat! A wonderful place to stay if you’re spending time in the Escalante area!
The property was well situated very close to Main Street in Escalante and the National Park. Practical enough for hiking, as well as luxury interiors with ‘sleep like a baby’ bedding, very well-appointed bathroom and comfy robes. We had a wonderful deck around the perimeter for good dark sky star gazing. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast delivered to our room. This is glamping! The owner and staff are delightful and very helpful.
The Slot Canyon Inn is really a cool little gem, away from all the noise and lights of a city yet close enough to pop into Escalante for dinner. The staff and the owner personally greet and visit with you. We stayed in the Casita, a eco shipping container unit that is perfect for a couple. Own little patio and nicely done inside. The ranch actually covers hundreds of acres with ancient petroglyphs on the property.
The wooden cabin was nice and cosy;
The place and territory is very nice, with garden and view to the Escalante river/ wadi;
There is no toilet and shower in the cabin, but there is separate building with showers and toilet;
Everything was clean
Location is excellent: close to the slot canyons, Calf Creek waterfalls trials, Zebra & Tunnel canyons, BigHorn canyon, etc.
Very nice clean two decent rooms combined, with a cowboy look. I just recently realized owner operated hotels in good neighborhoods are the way to go, they care more then chain motels, but the price is vary from inexpensive / to a little higher. I think it's worth it. I sent pictures back home because wall art / kitchen table really neat. You don't see that anywhere...
The complimentary pastries from Mimi’s were incredible. Best baked goods ever! The microwave and fridge were handy and we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the fridge. It was an excellent location to access both Bryce and the trails in Escalante. The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Amazing little gem! Wished we had stayed longer.
We stayed in the Aspen yurt. Very clean and super comfortable. One of the best beds we’ve slept in.
Rocking chairs on the patio were a little added bonus and perfect for stargazing at night.
We highly recommend Escalante Yurts!
escalante outfitters exceeded our expectations. we stayed in the lost cabin which was very comfortable for 4 adults. the staff were super helpful and friendly!! There is a cafe that serves the best pizza ever and in the morning there is great coffee and yummy pastries!
We stayed in a tiny cabin, which was lovely. Very well put together and quiet. The quality of the shared bathhouses was excellent. I particularly liked the outdoor showers. Handy location for Bryce Canyon. Escalante itself is a cool little town.
Location was what lead me to book. There was no breakfast to the best of my knowledge. Staff was pleasant and helpful, efficient. Seems that the hotel caters too off road/four wheelers recreation groups and industrial visitors.
The room was so neat looking on the inside. had a cabin look and feel to it. so neat. Fresh ground coffee in the room, not a bag or k-cups. actual coffee. super nice. Best kept secret in Escalante.
Beds are comfortable, hotel is clean, my family love that it has a pool, and gym. Friendly staff! We will definitely stay here again when we go back to Escalante!
