Beautiful small town, feels like a safe place to visit, friendly local residents, and close to winter sports and cooler climate in summer. I chose to drive further than I originally planned during the day because I knew from previous experience that Springerville is a great place to stay.

We had heard that Goob's Pizza was good, but was closed on Sundays and Mondays which were the days we were there. The town of Eager is 5 min away and has a wonderful restaurant, Trail Riders with wonderful food and great service. Highly recommend eating there.

The Round Valley has a lot going for it.
The Round Valley has a lot going for it. Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy many options...hunting, fishing, hiking and camping. History buffs would enjoy the area too. From Native American history to outlaws of the wild west to Mormon Pioneers it's here in the Springerville-Eagar area.
The Springerville volcanic field is the fourth largest in the US with more than 400 extinct volcanos.
I had booked for myself and my coworker... We travel to Springerville 1-2x month for work, but this was our first time trying the El Jo. I ended up having jury duty so didn't make it. But the staff was very understanding and cancelled / refunded the one room without any problem at all. My coworker said she slept better here than the previous places we'd tried! And that's what matters!
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was massive, super comfortable, and clean. I felt very comfortable. I've been driving cross country and trying to stay at places under a hundred dollars a night. This was the first hotel on my trip within my budget where I didn't feel the need to block the door with a chair. I had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was an added plus.
I met two of staff, and both were super nice, specially the gentleman who was the recipient when I arrived at night. They were very friendly and share information about neighborhood. Also, breakfast was not listed for this hotel, but they offered free breakfast, which was pretty good in fact. Beds were comfy and clean.
This property has updated rooms but still holds onto the same charm of an older motor lodge. It’s not often you get to stay at a place feet from your car.
The sinks and tubs drain well. That’s typically the sign that a hotel is well maintained.
Springerville is a bit out of the way for us it's a high country get away from Phoenix not to fancy but a great place to go to escape the heat and enjoy the outdoors
