Amazing location with an excellent and peaceful view! Rooms were clean and the bed was really comfortable. The hostess was polite and discreetly checked whether we needed anything during our stay. Great attention was given to every detail, from decoration of the property to everything that you may need for breakfast. We really appreciated the welcoming local Bakewell tarts and wine. Thank you! 🙂 We will definitely come back!

It felt like living a bit in the now and a bit in the past. It was comfortable and had all the things we needed. Most of all, the setting and the view is beautiful. I loved the bird songs the sheep across the valley, the horses in the pasture next to the house. And the house was cozy and cute.

Plenty of parking. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Joanne was lovely, with great communication before our stay. It was a pleasure to finally meet her. Happy to recommend this property to family and friends. Would definitely stay again! 😁

It's also close to most amenities in Lydgate and everything such as pubs and supermarkets are easy to get to. Great for a hiking weekend too as the North Peak District isn't far away.

Cottage Retreat near Peak District and Chatsworth House is situated in Tansley near Matlock. Chatsworth House and The Peak District National Park are close to the house. Excellent cottage, felt like home. So very well appointed - didn't want for anything. Martin was so helpful prior to our arrival with information and also let us know that we could even check in early too!
