Wick is rather a dismal looking town, but the people are very friendly and there is lots to do within a short drives. e.g. John'o'Groats, including Duncansby and Dunnet Heads, Sinclair's and Dunnet Bays, Castle Sinclair Gringoe and the Whaligoe steps. Lidl and large Tesco for food shopping/fuel stations. Ate at the Castle Hotel which was good, and had fish and chips from the High Street Chippy and Chinese, which does have some seating for eating in.

The house was very fine, delightfully quirky and full of character reflecting its long family associations and interests. My hosts were charming to the extent I felt very much at home. I left with reluctance!

I have been to Wick many times because there is plenty to see and do. This time we headed to John o Groats to the Puffin Croft Petting Farm which was such a joy.The lady who owns the farm is there to greet you and tell you about the goats, the sheep, the pigs, the donkeys, the rabbits and the Shetland pony - hope I haven't missed one! One place you must look for is the shortest street in the world which is in Wick.

Wick itself is a pretty but windswept and deeply depressed town. There is not a great deal to do in March - the walk to the castle was nice although I was almost blown off my feet. I had half a day there which was more than enough time to do everything that was open in the town. I plan to go back and explore the surrounding area over a couple of days,

Wick is an interesting old town in an interesting part of Scotland. There are many archaeological sites around worth seeing. The town has lovely places to eat, a super museum and places to walk or even swim in open water.

The hotel is in a good location to Wick, especially if you’re doing the NC500. The furniture and interior design is quite old and out dated but everything else was perfect. Staff were really nice and happy to help in anyway possible. TV in the bedroom as well as lots of tourist information. There is lots of space to sit downstairs with food and drink from the bar. Parking right outside the hotel. We had breakfast included which was really nice with lots of choice.

Couldn't fault this hotel - everything about it was great. The room, the food, etc. The staff are fantastic - so friendly and helpful. The location is great - just by the river and so ideal for walking our dog. And yes they are totally dog friendly. There is so much attention to detail and making sure the guest is happy and comfortable. I also like the fact that they have real plants and not artificial ones. Would recommend to anyone.

We were so lucky to find Jacqueline's house for our short stay in Wick. We wished we could have stayed longer. The house has been thoroughly modernised in a very tasteful way. The facilities are all you could wish for and as a group of 4 friends to find a 4 bedroom property is almost unheard of. Add to that the quiet location a short walk away from the centre and Jacqueline as a friendly and communicative host, this really is a 5* visit.

The Fisherman’s Cottage is a very spacious, well stocked apartment. It’s in a very quiet location and within walking distance to the city center. Wick turned out to be an unexpected highlight of our Scotland trip. It’s worth exploring on foot. There are numerous hidden trails and lots of eating spots. TFC is perfectly located to check it all out.

Everything was perfect. Our room was absolutely beautiful. Attention was paid to every detail making it extremely comfortable. And best of all Stewart the owner was a personable and outstanding host. The location was great and parking was right outside the door. If you are heading to Wick, this is the place to stay.

Everything about this stay was wonderful. It's an idea location for exploring this remote part of Scotland, the host Kacey was an absolute joy, and the room was very comfortable. Meals were great, too, and served in the room -- which felt like a total luxury!

Decent little hotel pretty much in the centre of Wick. Friendly staff, decent food and a nice bar. The rooms are pretty good too and ours had a decent view of the tidal river. It also has an electric charger at the back for guests, which we made use of.
