Lumoava 1200-luvulta peräisin oleva linnoitus sijaitsee metsäisellä puistoalueella Esk-joen rannalla. I loved staying in such a historical place and sadly I was not able to explore the grounds that much as it was raining a bit. The room service was amazing and the breakfast options are superb. I was also struggling to book some taxis for some events I would have and I asked the staff before my check in and in less than 1 hour I received the confirmation of the rides and they were super on time.

Located within 15 km of University of Edinburgh and 15 km of EICC in Roslin, Roslin Glamping provides accommodation with seating area. The hosts were really inviting and helpful. The camp was in very good condition upon arrival and everything is available as promised. A good mix of camping experience with all facilities available. Perfect for families.

Boasting lake views, The Secret Hideaway offers accommodation with patio, around 12 km from EICC. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The name is accurate. Secret hideaway. Loved the rural atmosphere with horses in the field behind and the lovely little pond in front. The space was clean, comfortable and hi tech. Loved the hot tub that was ready to enjoy when we arrived. It was a quiet peaceful night of sleep.

Set 1.1 km from Butterfly & Insect World, Glenarch House is in Dalkeith and features a garden and a terrace. The accommodation is 2.1 km from the Dalkeith Country Park. We had the best Indian food at Bombay Lounge. We went to a local pub and although it was packed we didn’t enjoy the food all all. 1/2 price breakfast at Morrison’s grocery. We only did 2 nights, but would have stayed longer.

Located in Borthwick and only 19 km from University of Edinburgh, Borthwick Farm Cottage Pottery provides accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. The location was brilliant as we were going to a wedding at the castle. The pottery was so cosy and ticked all the boxes, both of the owners were so welcoming and attentive. We even got lucky with the chickens and had fresh eggs! We will definitely be returning. 5*****

Situated in Roslin, the recently renovated Roslin Templar loft features accommodation 11 km from University of Edinburgh and 12 km from Royal Mile. It was lovely decorated everything was clean and modern

Borthwick Farm Cottage Annex, a property with a garden, is situated in Gorebridge, 19 km from Royal Mile, 20 km from National Museum of Scotland, as well as 20 km from The Real Mary King's Close. Very well presented, clean & spacious bright rooms. Modern interior with traditional furnishings, The location was great just a 30min drive to Edinburgh centre which makes a nice distance to have a city trip but with a relaxed country stay. Would highly recommend!
